”CrossFit Nac is a place that helped mold me into the person that I am today. After losing around 100lbs before joining CFN, I was searching for something that would motivate me to become the best version of myself. CrossFit Nac was that something. The people that surrounded me quickly became some of the best friends that I had. Grant, Tyler, Brody and Kenzie all plays huge part in helping me transform my body into something that is much better than it was when I started there. Since the day I joined CFN I have lost 40 more pounds and decreased my body fat percentage by over 10%. CrossFit Nac put me on the right track for health and fitness in my life, and there is no turning back now.”

A year and a half ago, I was was overweight, stressed and just not healthy. My first workout I felt like I was going to pass out,  but everyone was so nice and encouraging I knew I wanted to come back. Fast forward to today, I’ve dropped 30 pounds, I’m healthier, more mobile,  and working out helps me burn off stress. I love how I feel, clothes fit better, and the best part is the friendships you make along the way. I still have more goals to reach but I’m further along than I ever thought I’d be! dropped 30 pounds, I’m healthier and working out helps me burn off stress. "It wasn’t all CrossFit, I did have the gastric sleeve surgery on 4/19/17.  I weighed 269 the day of surgery and had already lost 35 pounds.
When I walked into CFN on 7/3/17 I weighed 245. I couldn’t do anything!  Brody put a pvc pipe on the floor and had me jump back and forth over it.  It was very difficult for me. I kept coming and kept trying. I won’t ever be the fastest or the strongest, but I can do stuff I’ve never been able to do.   The last two months I’ve had a big increase in my strength and am able to do more and with better form. I am down to 165 pounds. I can jump on a 20” box over and over again!  I remember thinking I would never be able to jump on the 8” box!  I am healthier, stronger, and in better shape than I’ve ever been in my life. I am off of my blood pressure and Diabetes medicines too. Plus, I have a new group of young, energetic friends who motivate me to keep going and keep getting better every day!  Thank you so much, CFN was life saver for me!

I know this sounds cliche, but CrossFit has honestly changed my life. Before joining the box, my workouts mainly consisted of long cardio sessions, but after a while, I stopped seeing results. I always wanted to lift but didn't really know what I was doing. I attended my first class at CrossFit Nac (formally NacFit) in May 2012. I distinctly remember pull-ups being apart of the workout, and I remember struggling like crazy to get my chin over the bar, even with a band. (I also remember not being able to straighten my arms for a week as a result of the workout). It’s crazy to think of how much I’ve progressed and grown as an athlete over the past two years, but it’s even crazier to think of how much more I have to learn. I compete with myself and strive to be better than I was the day before every time I enter the box. I enjoy all the challenges CrossFit has to offer and enjoy pushing myself beyond my imagined limits. That picture on the left is the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life (around 150 lbs. but don’t tell anyone!), but because of CrossFit, I will never have to be that girl again. I’m so thankful to be surrounded by a group of people who uplift, encourage, and push, not only me, but also all the other athletes, daily. I love my CFN family!

My wife and I were approached about a year ago to try out Crossfit. After it was explained in detail to me I promptly said absolutly no, and that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. At 37 years old and 285 lbs in a size 42 pant , no way was this gonna work for me. We showed up to the class and the intimidation rapidly set in. I remember like it was yesterday that coach Tyson very kindly walked over to us and was explaining this thing called a "scaled" work out and we would progress to what those guys were doing, and he would make sure we were trained propely. He would only push us to do our best. Fastforward a year and we are doing the exercises. We keep a journal and not only do I beat the guy from last year, I set a knew personal best about everytime I work out. We have been attending three to four times a week and I get asked atleast once a week what diet I am on. I explain that crossfit is the ticket and these size 38's are a little loose. I have never been around a group of people that are so uplifting and positve in my life. The atmospere breeds success. Everytime I walk into the box I can see the support and genuine friendship. My wife is probably the sexiest 36 year old in Nacogdoches(thanks coaches).

As a 35 y/o mother of a 17 y/o son and an 11 y/o daughter, I thought I would never be in the shape that I dreamed. I’ve always wanted to be more tone, leaner, stronger, and healthier. In 2010, I started with a goal to run 5 miles without stopping. I was slow, but I eventually made it. I still wanted to push myself further. In 2011, I completed my first ½ marathon. But I still strived to be better! I had heard about this “fad” called CrossFit, but in my mind I thought that is was a program beyond my capabilities, especially as a mom. My husband and I finally agreed to try CrossFit with a friend for the week. You have no idea how afraid I was to walk into the “Box,” people lifting weights over their head, doing pull-ups, walking on their hands, and jumping on boxes. Needless to say, I was SCARED! However, the coaches and other athletes were so welcoming and encouraging. I immediately felt comfortable and knew I would return and I DID. Initially all of the workouts of the day, WODs, I completed were on a scaled version. If there were pull-ups, I did ring-rows, if there were wall balls, I would do air squats, if there were weighted movements, I would use an empty 30-35lb barbell, and if there were box jumps, I would have to stack plates. You get the idea, I was WEAK! Now fast forward, 18 months, and now close to 37 years old, I have ABSOLUTELY amazed myself. I have gone from scaling all WODs, to even RXing several. I can do pull-ups with NO band, I can do handstand pushups (slowly), I can put weight on my bar to equal over 100lbs on many movements, and I can even do box jumps! I have now completed 8 ½ marathons, 2 full marathons, and an all-women’s CrossFit competition (and I didn’t place last). I am now currently training for an ULTRA marathon. Get this, I PR’d my full marathon time by 17 minutes by CrossFitting 3-4xweekly and completing a long run weekly. I’ve learned healthy diet habits and have lost 2 dress sizes. My childrens’ friends think I am their sister. I am in the best shape of my life and feel amazing. With all of that said, the most important and incredible aspect of the CrossFit community is the friendships you build. These athletes become an extension of your family. And at CrossFit you can work-out in the same class with your family. My husband, daughter, and I all work-out together at our own levels. It is truly amazing and a rewarding experience to complete such a challenging work-out with your loved ones.I look forward to continuing to improve, growing in my strength, and setting new goals and PRs! Just think if I can do this as a wife, mother of 2, and working full-time, ANYONE can accomplish their healthy lifestyle goals!

The coaching staff at CrossFit Nac literally, saved my life. I was overweight, mentally and physically weak, depressed, heavy drinker, smoker, and had absolutely no drive. I went with my roommate to a 7 p.m. class and I was hooked!! Since I made the commitment a year and a half ago, I have accomplished things that I never in my wildest dreams thought I could do. The expert coaching and the support from the CrossFit Nac community has helped me become stronger both inside and out, and helped me regain my confidence! By far one of the greatest decisions I've ever made! Thanks CrossFit Nac!!

Crossfit not only changed my life physically, but mentally. Before I started Crossfit I ran half marathons. It was my escape and that is all I wanted to do. A friend told me to try Crossfit and kept telling me to, but I was for sure not doing it. Then one day my mom told me she was going to try it out. Well crap that was it I had to start now too. I couldn't let my mother do something that I didn't! In February 2013 I attended my first class and let me tell you I was so scared! The idea of doing stuff on the rig and lifting weights scared me. It was hard and I was so sore, but I really enjoyed being there. The coaches and the athletes were so friendly and nice. Soon I became addicted and wanted to try new movements, which I ultimately failed (always with a smile on my face). Now a year later, I have lost weight, but not only that I have gained so much. I’ve meet amazing people who I consider family and care about deeply. I’ve gained confidence which I have never had before. I do not see a chubby faced girl in the mirror who I am ashamed to look at. I see a STRONG, POWERFUL, BEAUTIFUL woman who is now willing to try anything with a smile on my face. I owe so much to Crossfit Nac, the coaches, and other athletes who encourage and push me.
